Updated this week

This is important information for preventing fraud—please read this post! The following seven examples or scenarios are strong indications that you may be the victim of a scam.

Fraud attempts and scams are becoming increasingly common. Unfortunately, we have noticed this again in recent weeks. For this reason, we would like to provide you with some important information to protect you from such fraud attempts.

Please take a moment to read these tips carefully.

7 signs of fraud attempts and scams

If one or more of the following scenarios sound familiar to you, please contact our support team IMMEDIATELY, BEFORE you transfer any funds to third parties!

1. Coinfinity has coins ready for you.

This is definitely not true! We are purely a broker that exchanges Bitcoin for euros. We never hold funds or Bitcoin for our customers – you always manage your Bitcoin yourself!

2. A Coinfinity employee from a London office contacts you.

Be careful, this is a scam! Coinfinity does not have an office in London and we would never contact you unsolicited to persuade you to buy Bitcoin!

3. Bitcoin has been found or reserved for you on the blockchain or at the Blockchain company.

This is absolutely false! Blockchain is not a company, and there is no way to reserve or find Bitcoin that can be specifically assigned to you or a third party!

4. You don't have a wallet, but a stranger sends you an address.

Never send Bitcoin to such an address and do not give it to us as your own address!

5. You are contacted by unknown persons via email, phone, SMS, WhatsApp, or Telegram.

Be careful, this is most likely a scam! If you are unsure, do not hesitate to contact our support team by phone, chat, or email.

6. Someone wants to access your PC or smartphone via Anydesk, Teamviewer, or other software.

Do not allow this! No Coinfinity employee or reputable provider would ever ask for this!

7. Someone claims to have a fortune for you, but first asks for a processing fee.

This is also a clear attempt at fraud! Do not transfer any money to this person and do not buy Bitcoin to send to an address you have received from this person!

Before purchasing Bitcoin, please ensure that you are not falling victim to a scam. We are always available to answer your questions and offer support if you are unsure about anything.
